Thanksgiving mornings wouldn't be the same without Macy's annual parade along New York City streets.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, now in its 89th year, won't stray from their longstanding tradition of featuring Macy's employees, marching bands, parade floats, character balloons, and the omnipresent Santa Clause near the end. They're simply adding to the legacy.

Join NBC hosts Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and about 8,000 parade participants on Nov. 26 as they guide you through one of America's most cherished holidays.

Start time: 9 a.m. EST. Those planning to attend should arrive at least three hours early.

TV schedule: Broadcast nationwide on NBC starting at 9 a.m. local time and ending around noon.

Live stream: The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Facebook page and NBC.com, though a cable subscription is required on the main website. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade app, available on Android and iOS devices, features exclusive content.

Earthcam.com has again installed high-definition cameras along the parade route to give online users an eagle view of the proceedings.

Notable performers

Mariah Carey, Train, Jordin Sparks, Daughtry, Trey Songz, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Panic at the Disco, Plain White T's, Prince Royce, MercyMe, Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, and Sandra Lee.

Group performances include the cast of Broadway's "School of Rock," Questlove with "Sesame Street" characters, and an opening chorus from the Radio City Rockettes.

Route: It starts at 77th Street and 8th Avenue and travels along Central Park West before heading onto 59th Street. It then turns on 6th Avenue and goes on 34th Street before stopping at the Macy's on 7th Avenue.
