WWE Survivor Series hardly made a good impression but when the smoke cleared, it was perhaps what transpired after the WWE heavyweight title tournament that drew much interest rather than the cards for the night.

As expected, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose faced off in the finals, and both slugged it out with the WWE title in mind.

Reigns and Ambrose are among the rising stars the WWE has to offer to date, but somehow, the match lacked something---a certain flare---which saw the fans booing at certain stages or keeping mum and maybe even yawning.

At the rate things were going, it seemed like the WWE Royal Rumble all over again, with Reigns getting booed and feeling the obvious disapproval of fans who are not yet ready to embrace the Big Dog as the new WWE face and heavyweight champion.

Regardless, Reigns won it all in the end until trouble came down the ramp in the form of Triple H.

The WWE COO made it look like he was there to congratulate the new WWE champion, but apparently, it was all part of a setup. It didn’t take long for Sheamus to make an appearance and deliver his patented Brogue Kick before cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

When the bell rang, Reigns still managed to get up and show a bit of a fight. However, when Sheamus landed a second Brogue Kick, Reigns lost the WWE title again, with the Authority apparently orchestrating it.

With cameras focusing on Reigns in the aftermath, it was obvious that the Big Dog’s frustrations were mounting. He fell yet again and tears (of frustration?) were evident before the lights went off.

So is this the start of a sympathy run for Reigns, as mentioned on the Bleacher Report? Well, if WWE Raw is any consolation, it doesn’t look like Reigns cares much for it. He will be getting his rematch and it will happen at WWE TLC on Dec. 13.

The whole turnabout is seen as something to build Reigns a following, seeing that most WWE fans have not yet completely embraced the idea of having the Big Dog as the next face of the company.

Sheamus is the perfect heel to help mold Reigns into the star that Vince McMahon had envisioned him to be, and hopefully, the scheme will work. The Celtic Warrior is thus the latest WWE star to help out Reigns, following Bray Wyatt, who had a long tenure in building up Reigns.

Could it be another long storyline for the Big Dog?

Well if it is, it won’t be Sheamus alone. As mentioned by the Rolling Stone, its turning out to be Reigns vs. the world since he will have to deal as well with the new (and monstrous) Authority faction, which now includes Rusev and King Barrett.
