Ever since the 2015-16 NBA Season started, hoop junkies are concerned on what Kobe Bryant plans to do once his contract expires on July 1, 2016. There are certain factors to consider for Bryant as the season progresses and one of them is if he can stay healthy long enough to last this season.
Kobe has been struggling, something that doesn’t come as a surprise considering the injuries that have grounded him from continuously playing on the hardwood.
His last injury was that torn rotator cuff which in all could make or break his shooting touch. Though he has shown that he still has the stroke to make shots, consistency has obviously been a big question mark. Some new injuries, minor as they may, have also forced Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott to play him sparingly and with caution.
For those who want a hint on Kobe’s plans, here is one for you courtesy of a report from Yahoo Sports. After a talk with USA Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and Frank Isola on Sirius XM’s NBA channel, here is what Kobe has to say on his future plans:

With that said, it best typifies how other retired NBA players approach their career. Kobe’s future could very well depend on how he keeps up this season and should he feel that it is time to hang it all up, he seems inclined to do so.
Given the benefit of the doubt, Kobe could still finish the season on a high note though a lot depends on how fit he is. Being in a lot of epic NBA battles, it remains that his body has been severely battered and bruised so one last run could result into a grand exit or an abrupt ending.
Kobe’s misfiring performance is something that stems from years of playing and countless injuries. With that said, the last thing he may want is to call it a career on account of injury. But at the rate the Lakers are playing and how Scott has obviously turned to him to somehow bail the team out, Kobe could end up pushing himself to the extreme once more.
Could he consider playing overseas? Well a report from the Bleacher Report finds it hard to believe and supporting that fact is Kobe did say he will end his basketball career wearing purple and gold.
