Charlie Sheen's latest health revelation has completely shocked the rumor mill, and his ex! Sheen is HIV positive.
In an interview with Matt Lauer of the TODAY show, Sheen decided to put an end to the extortion he was experiencing for years from those he trusted. The "Two and a Half Men" star paid more than $10 million to keep his health a secret.
"I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others that couldn't be further from the truth," Sheen admitted.
He also told Lauer he was not sure how he contracted the potentially deadly virus taking into account his risky adult behavior. He admitted to having unprotected sex with two people since his diagnosis. TODAY reports both individuals were informed ahead of time. However, Sheen dismissed that he engaged in high-risk behaviors that could spread the virus.
"You're talking about needles and that whole mess? No, definitely not," he said.
His ex, Bree Olson, is reportedly furious that he did not tell her he had HIV.
"So he just admitted right in that interview that that is the tiger blood time. That's when I was with him! I was living with him! We were sleeping together every single night," she angrily told Stern.
However, Sheen is reporting he found out two weeks after they broke up. Olson told Howard Stern otherwise, cites Hollywood Life.
Regardless, other news outlets are reporting Sheen continued to engage in sexual intercourse without telling his partnets. The notorious hell raiser is reported to have actually spent $1.6 million on adult entertainment after his diagnosis.
National Enquirer via The Telegraph, claimed they got their hands on Sheen's 2013 financial reports for his production company, 9th Step, which indicated he spent $1,629,507 on what was termed "friendly entertainment" - the 50-year old's code for "sex workers."
If the above is in fact true, Sheen may have cast a very wide net of individuals unknowingly infected with HIV.
According to TMZ, a large number of Sheen's sexual partners are planning to file suits against him for allegedly exposing them to HIV.
Laverne Cox of "Orange is the New Black" tweeted a link to an article about HIV awareness and wrote ""Love this article. Language to destigmatize HIV is so vital."
Holly Robinson Peete tweeted, "Please remember before you make jokes about Charlie Sheen on your timeline, there are others living with HIV/AIDS that follow you."
Piers Morgan tweeted his support to Sheen.
"Bravo @charliesheen - that took guts today. Proud to be your mate."
Maybe Sheen will be able to find a silver lining in this situation like his high-profile colleagues have.
