Creator of the "Naruto" series Masashi Kishimoto has recently confirmed that he would like to make a spinoff to the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie."

According to Yibada, the film is to take a closer look at the current relationship between Naruto Uzumaki and his best friend / rival Sasuke Uchiha. The narrative of the film will be coming from the deceased mentor and teacher of Naruto, the legendary Sannin Jiraiya.

Movie News Guide reports that Kishimoto is very proud of his team who has worked on both the anime and manga versions of the story and that it was quite an accomplishment for them to actually finish the "Naruto Shippuden" series.

While it is not yet sure what time period the new movie might be set in, but since Kishimoto has stated it will be a spinoff of the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" film, fans are expected it to be in the time after the Shinobi war where Naruto is Hokage and Sasuke is a rogue ninja hunter.

Currently, Kishimoto is not sure on if he would want to continue the "Naruto" series past where the story is already. According to the series creator, there are infinite possibilities for him now that the "Naruto Shippuden" series has finished.

The only thing Kishimoto has confirmed is that he will be taking a long vacation with his family, so there is nothing in the works anime or manga wise for him and his team at this time. However, in his own words fans should always hold the possibility of something new.

Kishimoto has gone on record on saying that it has been a long and fun road since the Naruto character debuted on the pages of "Weekly Shonen Jump" back in 1997. The Japanese artist states that another epic character started just a year earlier in the form of Luffy from the manga/anime "One Piece."

Kishimoto has stated that he has had a friendly rivalry with "One Piece" creator Eiichiro Oda ever since the two were up and coming artists. According to Anime News Network, Kishimoto stated that while Oda was able to beat him to the punch to start "One Piece" it was Kishimoto that actually saw the culmination of his vision bear fruit first.
