While promoting his new album "Untouchable," Pusha T stopped by New York radio station Hot 97 and he dropped a few words about how he feels regarding the Lil Wayne - Birdman beef.
Pusha T released "Untouchable" along with the lyrics that state the following:
"I'm aiming for the moguls, why y'all ni**as aiming at the locals?/ And rap ni**as broke like them, they're mere hopeful/ Still wishing on a star/ The last one to find out that Baby owns the cars."
Definitely sounds like the new president of G.O.O.D. Music is calling out Baby and Lil Tunechi. Ebro asks Pusha T if he in fact heard the lyrics correctly and whether Pusha T is taking shots at the controversial father-son duo.
"It sounds like... and we have to get to it because you will throw shots, sounds like you referenced Birdman owns Lil Wayne's cars, am I interpreting that correctly?" questions Ebro.
Birdman and Lil Wayne have a complicated father-son relationship, from allegations of sexual abuse to major lawsuits over unfinished records.
"Yeah I am talking about what's going on. I was speaking on that in that lyrically I just feel I'm untouchable," he explained. "You got to prove it man by being able to put these words together and talk these situations and show people I'm not that, I'm nothing like that."
He continues to talk about rappers getting victimized in the rap game.
"You got to be smart enough to not let people instigate. This is a platform and at that time I was going through wild label stuff and I wasn't putting out music like that so you can't have somebody that big say disparaging things against you and you're not putting out music like that. That's a heavy hit, you can't take those hits. He's a heavy hitter, man."
True. This is not the first time Pusha T has taken a swing or two at the YMCMB founder. In December Weezy tweeted his frustration with his fater-figure and Cash Money records saying, "I want of this label and nothing to do with thee people but unfortunately it aint that easy." Pusha T tweeted back, "if u wanna drop albums & don't want your CEO's rubbing the hands in all your videos COME TO GOOD MUSIC!! (Suge Knight voice)."
The two emcees have been trading shots over the past few years. Rap fans will have to wait and see what transpires next.
