A pop mash-up of over 50 songs called "Pop Danthology 2012" has gone viral on YouTube, surpassing the 1 million-view mark just three days after being posted. The music mash-up was created by self-proclaimed "strategic artist" Daniel Kim, based in Vancouver, Canada.

The eight-minute-long video features a bevy of pop artists including One Direction, Maroon 5, Psy and Christina Aguilera. "Pop Danthology 2012," the third pop mash-up by Kim has garnered 1,452,080 views and 42,790 likes since being published on December 2. The video also gained over 6,000 comments, with several coming in every minute.

Kim managed to seamlessly weave the songs together and many of the viewers commented on his ability to do so. While many noted that he was able to do it because the songs sounded similar, most noted that he was able to execute the mash-up well.

"I'm not a fan of dance and pop but whoever mashes all this up so seamlessly really knows his s***! Congrats! Got a follower bud," h3llh0und00 wrote.

Fellow commenter added, "This music really works in this one. One of the best I've heard in a while. This was some hard work. My props to you."

Making the video mash-up wasn't easy, Kim acknowledged in a blog post. He said the whole process took a total of three months of gathering, planning, arranging and mixing. Kim said, "It was a lot of work! For an entire month, I went to sleep every night with ringing in my ears."
