New York Man Killed By NYC Subway- This story grabbed national headlines after the New York Post published a front-page photo of the man's last moments before being killed. The 58-year-old Queens man, Ki-Suck Han, was reportedly pushed into the tracks on Monday before being hit by a subway train. Post freelance photographer, R. Umar Abbasi, has been criticized from photographing Han before his death instead of helping him out.
Fiscal Cliff Deal A No Go- Washington has been gripped in a fierce battle to forge a deal on the impending fiscal cliff, which would include automatic higher taxes for the middle-class in 2013. Congressional Republicans rejected a deal by the White House that was approved by the Senate and proposed their own counter proposal. However, President Obama rejected the plan saying that no deal would be reached without higher tax rates for the wealthy.
Taylor Swift Dating Harry Styles- Rumors have circulated that the country singer is now dating British boy bander Harry Styles (of One Direction fame). The rumors were further fueled after photos emerged of the two strolling through NYC and presumably spending the night together at a NYC hotel.
George W. Bush And Immigration- The former US president jumped back into the immigration debate during a conference hosted by the George W. Bush Institute and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas on Tuesday. Bush has become the latest politician to discuss the issue, after it received renewed attention following the November presidential election. During the conference, Bush said, "Immigrants have helped build the country that we've become and immigrants can help build a dynamic tomorrow."

Conflict in Syria- The situation in Syria continues to heat up after NATO approved the deployment of Patriot missiles in Turkey to defend the country against attacks from Syria. The US has also warned the civil war-torn country against using chemical weapons. The on-going battle between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and opposition forces has lasted over 20 months.
Royal Baby Announcement- In cheerful news, British royals, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have announced that they are expecting their first child since getting married in 2011. The announcement follows months of intense speculation from the media. The couple was forced to make the announcement earlier than expected after the Duchess was admitted to a West London hospital with acute morning sickness.
Egyptian Clashes Resume- Egyptian protesters have take to the streets of Cairo in front of the presidential palace to rally against President Mohamed Morsi. Morsi has been criticized for granting himself a bevy of new powers since taking office. Reports state that Egyptian security forces have used tear gas to dispel protesters.
