'Winds of Winter' Coming Out Soon? [Release Date, Rumors & Where to Buy]

Fans of "A Song of Fire and Ice" books have gotten used to the fact that George R.R Martin likes to take his time between books as the story is worth the wait.

According to Inquistr, the wait might not be much longer, as rumors are circulating that the highly anticipated book will be released early next year.

The rumors started when the 67-year-old author stated on his personal website that while he would be on vacation, his minions will be stuck at home mining the paper mines. While this could be taken a variety of ways, most fans believe that it means the editing team of Martin will be hard at work on "Winds of Winter."

Moreover, with HBO also delaying "Game of Thrones" for 10 weeks to show their new series "Vinyl," Vanity Fair reports that this is to allow Penguin Publishing House more time to release "Winds of Winter" before season 6 of the show. The delaying of the show is probably part of HBO's courtesy to Martin.

The delay of the next season of "Game of Thrones" has gotten mixed reactions from the fans, as many are still awaiting the real fate of series favorite Jon Snow, amongst other storylines.

Martin has also confirmed to the fans that he is trying his best to get the next book out as soon as possible, and has even removed himself from writing "Game of Thrones" scripts for the time being to keep his commitment to his fans.

The story from the TV show has roughly stayed true to the books, with a few characters and a few storylines left out. It seems that season 6 of "Game of Thrones" might be the season in which the differences between the TV show and the books really start to show.

Most fans are thinking that the first big change is how Jon Snow is being handled. Currently, everyone on set from the actors to the director are keeping loyal to the declaration of Jon Snow's death. However, actor Kit Harrington did say that the character died in the end of season 5 and the white walker army befell him. In the book, Snow Is still live and Martins has said himself that he has plans for the character. Many think that Jon Snow might actually be the next king.
