This photo of a baby surrounded by IVF medication vials and syringes won the hearts of many people around the globe, highlighting the joys and the pains each mom goes through.
It was really surprising that this photo of a lovely baby girl has gone this far -- inspiring lives and touching hearts. This initiative has opened doors for IVF and also connected lives of those people who are into the most common and most effective type of assisted reproductive technology (ART) to help women become pregnant.
Many parents who underwent and still are undergoing such IVF therapies and medications have also told their own stories and experiences. One comment says, "Still praying for my IVF miracle." More so, others proudly posted their IVF kiddos' photos (babies, twins, toddlers, and even grown-ups) on the thread to be an inspiration to other parents who are going through the IVF journey. All of them could really relate as to the difficult times one might have -- whether physically, emotionally and financially.
Well, it all boils down into one thing: modern medicine has helped them receive and indulge in one of their life's most precious gifts -- parenthood.
Wow, what a photo. Thank you to Sher Fertility St. Louis and Dr. Dayal patient Angela, who shows the true definition of love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl.

When a Picture is Worth 2 Million Words
Dr. Geoffrey Sher himself also wrote a post on this, "The juxtaposition of the baby girl and the syringes struck an immediate chord with our staff as well as our Facebook community." He also explained that the team had no idea that the photo would create such strong impact to all the people who viewed and shared it.
"To date, it has been viewed more than 2 million times on our Facebook page alone! ... The thing we found most rewarding about the photo was the dialogue that it opened around the topic of IVF," he added.
Dr. Sher also shares his thoughts and weighs in on the positive impact of this viral baby photo. You may read it here.
According to ABC News, Sher Fertility Institute has locations in New York City, Westchester, New Jersey, Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, Central Illinois, Dallas, St. Louis and Las Vegas. The organization claims to be responsible for the birth of more than 18,000 babies.
Lots of our fellas also attested that though IVF has caused them emotional ups and downs, it is really worth it... for having a little one is indeed priceless.
FYI: IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus. Other forms of ART include gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT), American Pregnancy Association explained.
