Ian McKellen and Patarick Stewart won't be the only X-Men alums reprising their roles in Days of Future Past, reports E! News.
Hugh Jackman, the face of Wolverine, is currently negotiating with the studio to appear in the upcoming sequel to First Class. Brian Singer is once again at the helm of the franchise since his departure from the director's chair after X-2: X-Men United.
Matthew Vaughn, who directed First Class, is rumored to have been chosen to herald the return of Star Wars to the big screen.
"[The director] is going for a big sci-fi thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's X-Men meets The Terminator. You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes-it's got everything in one film," Marvel creative consultant Mark Millar told Total Film.
The plot is based off of a 1981 story arc that "depicts a timeline created by the X-Men's failure to prevent the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from assassinating a U.S. senator. In that alternate future, the giant robotic Sentinels have become the de facto rulers of the United States, where mutants are hunted down and placed in internment camps," according to Comic Book Resources
X-Men: Days of Future Past will bring back much of First Class's cast, including James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Jason Flemming.
Look for the film in theaters when it releases on July 18, 2014.
