Should Seth Rollins be Blamed For Poor WWE Ratings?

The WWE continues to sulk with low ratings and blame game is now in play. Should the blame of the WWE’s faltering performance be attributed to the fact that Seth Rollins is at the helm?

Rollins has been rendering his character to the letter and some feel that pinning the blame on him could be a bit overboard.

Full blame should indeed be given to the WWE Creative Team for failing to come up with compelling storylines and characters so in all, Rollins is simply a pawn in the mix.

Rollins continues to reign as the WWE Heavyweight champion, something that caught many off guard when he stole the thunder from beneath two giants, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. He cashed in at Wrestlemania 32 and has fended off challenges (clean and or dirty) though the past months.

However, the fact remains that the meager viewers who tune into the regular WWE Shows (RAW and Smackdown) is a result of mediocre storylines that have simply failed to draw in wrestling fanatics.

For his part, Rollins has been indeed working hard but he still lacks the charisma when compared to the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Steve Austin or John Cena have done in the past.

In short, Rollins is a minor piece of the problem. His sudden rise to fame is questioned and while many despise him for being the heel he is, hating him alone is a sign that WWE fans have taken notice and are tuning in.

For the WWE to cover lost ground, dethroning Rollins isn’t likely to help out the cause. It doesn’t seem like a quick resolution to the matter and at the end of the day, it is still about how the WWE creative team can come up with something special to keep viewers following the WWE shows each night.

With a seemingly overflowing roster at the back, it is hard to think that the creative team is unable to pick someone who could turn things around in the rating game. It is all about being ‘creative’, probably in the same way that they turns Rollins in somebody from a nobody.

Could they be blamed for the hate given on Roman Reigns as well?

Considering that Reigns could have been a good franchise figure, seeing his lack of work behind the microphone should have been spotted from the moment Reigns started to make some noise.

With that overlooked, Reigns has ended up more on the negative side rather than the positive which makes it hard to think how he can be installed at the top of the WWE.

On whether you agree or not, it is not Rollins who should be ‘entirely’ blamed. Vince McMahon’s henchmen should be singled out as well where new blood and minds could possibly help out in the falling ratings of the WWE shows.
