Kevin Durant is looking forward to his return in the NBA this coming season after missing most of the 2014-15 NBA season.

Durant was sidelined by a foot injury that saw him barely playing. But now, the former NBA MVP and OKC Thunder star has been cleared and is aching to spring back into action as he tries to help the OKC Thunder recover lost ground after failing to make the NBA Playoffs last season.

And while Durant is expected to return with a bang, this season could provide interest than seeing the 27-year-old forward returning to form and leading his team once more.

Though the season has yet to get underway, expect Durant’s season to be plagued by intrigue and rumors with the former University of Texas standout set to hit NBA Free Agency next year.

Of course, Durant has made it clear that he doesn’t intend to talk or entertain questions surrounding his future. Durant goes as far as advising people that unless he or any of his trusted allies mention anything, all rumors surrounding his future NBA plans are not credible.

Still and all, such is not expected to stop people from speculating his plans by 2016. He could remain with the OKC Thunder which seems to be the likely choice or move on.

Should the latter happen, a prime destination being mentioned is Washington mainly because the 6-foot-9 NBA All star hails from Washington D.C.

Other than that, Durant should be a good fit as he would be ably complimented by the Wizards star backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Anywhere else?

Well word has it that he could equally fit in Los Angeles as well, seeing the team is in search for its next franchise player with 37-year-old Kobe Bryant nearing the end of his basketball career.

That plus the fact that the Lakers have a slew of young rising players led by sophomores Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle plus the highly touted rookie D’Angelo Russell makes LA an interesting stop should Durant leave Oklahoma City.

Belief that Durant could end up with the Lakers was first revealed by Stephen A. Smith via ESPN First Take and seconded by Colin Cowherd.

Stephen A. Smith said his sources tell him Kevin Durant prefers the Lakers in free agency at this moment. And I'm here to tell you ... he knows what he's talking about. He knows what he's talking about. And I'll tell you this: this is happening. I absolutely believe this.

Cowherd does list down some valid points, sensible enough to possibly lure in the former NBA MVP.

Still and all, these remain rumors and as mentioned by Durant earlier on, unless it comes straight from the horse’s mouth, all these remain untrue so it would be best to keep an open mind until the 2016 Free Agency period comes around.
