Despite their dreadful play in the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City has done a great job of defending their EPL championship.
Currently just one point behind Manchester United for first place, City has put together an unbelievable run of eight wins and five draws. They remain the only team in the EPL to have zero losses in 13 matches. They have three players with at least five goals on the season: Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, and Sergio Aguero. They would be the favorites heading into their match with Wigan Athletic if not for the fact that they have two wins and four draws in six away matches. In that stretch they have scored seven times, but have only conceded five goals.
Wigan Atheltic will relish the chance to play at home against Man City as the team has managed eight of their 14 points at home. That is not to say that they are a stellar home team as they have only gathered eight of a possible 21 points at home, but they have only obtained six of 18 on the road. Arouna Koné is their greatest scoring threat with four goals and three assists thus far in the 2012-13 season.
Prediction: It will be a tight match and I think that Man City wins by a 1-0 score.
