Mike Miller Headed to Denver Nuggets? [News & Rumors]

Mike Miller is the latest player who is headed to free agency with reports that he and the Portland Trailblazers have reached a buyout agreement.

To recall, Miller found himself in Portland when the Cleveland Cavaliers packaged him with Brendan Haywood last July in exchange for two future second-round draft picks. Haywood was already waived just three days after the deal went down last July 27.

Miller, who almost retired back in 2013 when back problems became too much to bear when he was still with the Heat, seems to be far from considering it once more.

And with added reports that the Denver Nuggets are interested in the 35-year-old three point bomber, Miller could be suiting up for his 7th ballclub (not counting the Blazers since he never really suited up at all).

If the Nugget and Miller can strike a deal, it would fulfil a botched plan last year when Miller was coming off a strong showing when the Memphis Grizzlies. Miller shot 45.9 percent from the three point region and averaged only 20 minutes per game.

The Nuggets had reportedly offered Miller a three year deal at that time worth $12 million but the former Florida Gator opted to join a close friend named Lebron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But as everyone perhaps noticed, Miller hardly played for the Cavs and spent most of his time dealing with injuries. He was more of a perennial cheerleader than anything else and all that was capped when the Cavs traded him along with Haywood last July.

There is no word though on how much the Nuggets would offer Miller but considering his state and recent stint, it may not be as lucrative as the one offered last year.

Miller could be the 15th player with a guaranteed contract should both sides come to an agreement. His addition could beef up the veteran presence and experience the young Nuggets sorely need, particularly rookie guard Emmanuel Mudiay who inherits the point guard reins from Ty Lawson who is now with the Houston Rockets.

Aside from mentoring, Miller could still play the same amount of minutes he had at Memphis though his actual condition comes into mind after seemingly struggling the past years due to injury.

Assuming he is fit enough, he does offer an outside threat that could allow the young big men more space in the middle especially when he catches fire burying his outside shots.

So will Mike Miller be playing next season? Will he come to terms with the Denver Nuggets? All that should offer a clearer view in the coming days.
