The Man Bun Has Competition, The Man Braid [PHOTOS]

The sexy man bun has some fierce new competition this autumn season - the man braid. The versatility and complexity of the man braid is catching the eye of social media, as more photos of men and their locks looped and twisted into wondrous braids are popping up all over the net.

The man braid can simply flow down a man's back.

 Or appear as an intricately woven fishtail.

Or an impressive swirl of cornrows for an edgy look.

Some men have taken the style a bit further, piling their braids onto their head a la dutch maid style for a messy boho chic look.

The internet is becoming a frenzy over the female dominated look. #Manbraids is beginning to trend on Instagram with over 3,000 posts while a twitter account has already been dedicated to the look. #MANBRAID @jaredletobraid

Some users drooled over photos over the budding beauty trend for the male sex.

Either way the braid is becoming a fall look for men and it seems to have caught on thanks to Jared Leto.

The "Suicide Squad" actor sported a man braid at the 2015 Golden Globes. Prior, he wrapped his chestnut tresses into a man bun for the 2014 Golden Globes. Regardless, the actor seems to inspire the latest trends. Hmm... wonder what winter look he will inspire next?
