Whoa! Cocaine is now available in the color black. The white powdery substance known for its addictive nature, stimulating effects on the body, and widespread recreational use is being uncovered in a darker form to be disguised on international flights.

The illegal drugs are reportedly a mix of cocaine and zinc. The powder is then made to look like black ink material that is used to reload printers, according to Fusion. These drug lords are really getting crafty! Earlier this month a one-ton shipment of "coca-negra" was seized in Colombia at the Bogota airport on a flight outbound to Sinaloa, Mexico. Police at the Bogota airport were tipped off by a drug-sniffing dog named Mona explains Associated Press. Mona sniffed out the contraband hidden in 48 boxes of a one metric ton of cargo shipment. Fusion further details, the ton of  "black ink" was worth a whopping $18 million dollars.

The police said in a statement Monday as soon as they realized the black powder had in fact tested positive as cocaine they alerted Mexico which then lead to a bust of a similar amount of "black cocaine." These findings were made at Mexico City's airport on a flight that had come from Bogota, Colombia.

An anonymous spokesperson who disguised their identity because they are not able to speak on the issue publicly advised Associated Press the only recent bust matching the characteristics described by Colombian police occurred a week ago when authorities at the Mexico City's airport, acting on an anonymous phoned-in tip, found cocaine camouflaged in 40 sacks of black zinc oxide weighing one ton.

Fusion further reports, "black cocaine" is being trafficked by fugitive drug lord Joaquin "Chapo" Guzman's Sinaloa Cartel. Post Mexico drug bust, the Mexico City officials arrested a man driving along the Sinalo state highway who possessed documentation to pick-up a ton of zinc oxide at the airport. However, "black cocaine" is not that new. The drug has apparently been in existence since the 90's according to the British outlet Independent. Either way it seems to be back on the rise. At this time, the drug appears to be circulating primarily in Latin America.
