Paul Walker's Daughter Meadow Rain Launches Marine Science Foundation in Honor of Late Father

Meadow Walker marks the 42nd birthday of her late father with a touching announcement.

The 16-year-old student, Meadow, announced on Saturday the formation of The Paul Walker Foundation. "I am tremendously proud to be launching The Paul Walker Foundation on his birthday," she writes on Twitter, as per Mirror UK.

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father," she adds, concluding with the hashtag "DoGood."

According to USA Today, one of the foundation's stated goals is to "provide grants and scholarships to selected students and researchers pursuing marine science educations or working on advancements in the field."

Mirror UK informs that the charitable foundation will be endowing scholarships to teenagers with a "passion for the ocean" and give them an opportunity to work with the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions," Meadow writes in a Facebook post Saturday, as quoted by USA Today. "His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world."

E! News interviewed Paul Walker III, the late Paul Walker's father, just before his one-year death anniversary. "He studied marine biology and spent most of his free time in the ocean. That was his magical kingdom," Walker's father revealed as per E! News. "The ocean and the other was the racetrack," he added.

Walker is famously known for playing Brian O' Conner in the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise. He died in a single-car collision and fire on November 30, 2013 having just attended a holiday toy drive for his disaster relief charity, Reach Out Worldwide.
