Belief that the storyline feud between the Wyatt Family and buddies Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose were likely headed to a close at WWE SummerSlam have now been quashed all because of the addition of one man – Braun Strowman.
Many will recall that Strowman made that surprise debut on WWE RAW right after the last WWE pay-per-view, a move that certainly caught everyone by surprise. After getting a chance at revenge, the long talked about rumor that a new Wyatt Family member was coming finally materialized.
But Strowman’s sudden appearance was something people never counted on. Among the names which were mentioned as the third member included former Wyatt family member Erick Rowan, Bo Dallas and even the reinvented character of Adam Rose.
No one thought that a virtual unknown, a hulking 6-foot-8 former strongman competitor, would join this supposed winding up feud -- but the insertion has somehow brought new life into a feud that many want over and done with.
Prior to his arrival, it was obvious that the odds were in favor of Reigns and Ambrose, considering the power and talent that both wrestlers had. The technical knowhow obviously favors the former Shield duo, but now the shoe may be in the other foot.
What Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper lack in technicality has now been made up with their overflowing powerful bunch, not to mention that they now outnumber Reigns and Ambrose with 3 is to 2.
But heading into WWE Night of Champions, which takes place on September 20, the numbers game could be on equal footing. A third member is set to join the Reigns-Ambrose tandem and the initial belief was that it could very well be Randy Orton.
To recall, Orton was attacked by the Wyatts at the September 7 edition of WWE RAW. The Viper was coming off a win over Sheamus and for some reason, the uncanny trio struck and took Orton out.
The addition of Orton seems to make sense. However, a report from PWInsider suggests that the whole segment was really meant to send Orton to vacation. The Top Rope Press adds that Orton could very well be out until the next WWE SummerSlam, which is pretty far off.
If true, this means that the belief that Orton would be the third member may have been eased out. And with that in mind, who could the third member possibly be?
With (and if Orton) is indeed out of the picture, it brings the guessing game back to square one. Could it be among the names mentioned in a previous post here? Or will it be someone who will have a common beef against Bray Wyatt and company?
