Lil Wayne is calling it game over.
After 19 years in the profession, the rapper will release his 10th solo LP "I Am Not A Human Being II' in February 19, 2013, but told MTV "Tha Carter V" will be his last.
"I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album," said Lil Wayne. "Man, I've been rappin' since I was eight years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time."
A release date for “Tha Carter V” is unknown but it is possible the rapper could release another album in between “I Am Not A Human Being II” and “Tha Carter V.”
Wayne told MTV’s Sway, "I signed my contract at 11 [years old], I went platinum at 14. I'm 30 now. Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum. To just keep it goin' like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."
The news comes after a health scare for Wayne last month. The rapper was rushed to a Texas hospital following what appeared to be a seizure on Oct. 25. Representatives for Wayne stated the health scare stemmed from dehydration and a migraine headache, and refuting claims Wayne suffered a seizure.
But going back to his MTV interview, Wayne said he is taking anti-seizure medication.
“I don’t want y’all to think I’m on nothing, man,” he said, referring to fans thinking he’s taking illegal drugs. “I’m on seizure medicine, man, that’s all.”
As for life after retiring, Wayne said he’d like to be a sports analyst and a skater by night. Wayne has helped build multiple skate parks and is responsible with the TRUKFIT clothing line.
