A judge approved Salma Hayek's request for restraining order against women stalking her family.
Fox News Latino reported that a judge on Friday granted the restraining order request of the Hollywood actress. Last week, the judge ordered two women to stay away from Hayek and her family for the next three years.
Judge Carol Boas of the Los Angeles Superior Court gave Hayek her request for a restraining order against Odette Bodagh and Liana Philippon. The actress claimed that the women tried impersonating her and threatened to kidnap her daughter. The order also gave protection to Hayek's husband and child.
During Friday's hearing, Bodagh said that she thought she had a relationship with the actress and didn't realize she was scaring Hayek until a restraining order was imposed. "I thought there was a relationship. I was under the impression I was talking to Hayek," Bodagh said tearfully. "I am so sorry I did it."
Bodagh even urged the judge to dismiss the court order, stating that it would affect her career. Philippon did not show up in the court hearing.
According to court findings, the case was filed because of the unusually bizarre pattern of behavior by the two "mentally disturbed" individuals. Aside from impersonating Hayek, they have also tried to obtain the actress' contact information from family members, attempting to contact the actress and impersonating her to contact her minor child.
"In one communication, while posing as Hayek, Philippon made a veiled threat regarding kidnapping and ransoming Hayek's minor child," stated the filed statement.
According to Yahoo News, Bodagh said her marriage failed because of her infatuation with the actress. The woman also moved to Los Angeles with her now ex-girlfriend Philippon because she thought she was communicating with Hayek. Philippon has a history of mental issues and impersonated another celebrity Angie Harmon. This was stated by Hayek's attorney, Bryan Sullivan, in the court papers.
Both Philippon and Bodagh have shown "mental instability" when they were questioned by the Los Angeles police investigators. The women have been ordered to stay away at least 100 yards from Hayek, her French businessman husband Francois-Henri Pinault and their daughter.
Hayek has been greatly involved in raising her 7-year-old daughter Valentina. As soon as she gave birth to her daughter, the actress decided to stop work and just focus on taking care of her child. However, her husband encouraged her to return to the entertainment industry.
"It's important that your kids understand that they are the most important thing but it's not all about them. You set an example that you are also your own person and you have to continue to grow in the field that you are working," Hayek explained.
