Ever since her death during the Red Wedding, fans of "Game of Thrones" have been wondering if the character Catelyn Stark would ever come back.
For those who have yet to read the books that comprise Season 6, the following article may contain spoilers. You have been warned.
For those who are in the know, the Red Wedding was not the end for Catelyn Stark. She was actually resurrected by the Brotherhood without Banners as Lady Stoneheart, who then led an army across Westoros to exact revenge on those who have done her wrong. The character's arc culminated in an epic duel with Brienne of Tarth.
The character has come up several times in discussion but it has been a whole season since the death of Catelyn, and the actress who portrayed Lady Stark, Michelle Fairley, has gone on to do other projects. Many fans of the show who are in the know have actually written off the character as there has been no news or appearance from her since her death.
However, there has been some recent news from Watchers of the Wall that actress Souad Faress has been cast to play a yet unknown character for season 6. Rumors began because Faress shares several characteristics with Fairley but the two aren't quite identical.
The rumor spread because Fairley has moved on to other shows, and the character of Lady Stoneheart was resurrected in the books a long time after Lady Stark died. Hence, her body had already shown signs of decay. This story plot twist could be a good reason for the recasting of Lady Stoneheart.
The rumor of Lady Stoneheart has also been discussed by "Game of Thrones" rumor mill Irish Thrones' Twitter Account. In one of their tweets, Irish Thrones states that Lady Stoneheart will be returning for Season 6 and will be leading an army. By the show's standards, it is not really clear on which army she will be leading, but she will be leading an army nonetheless.
If the news of Lady Stoneheart is not enough for Fans of the "Song of Fire and Ice" series, then a shocking rumor that has long been spoken about is that Jon Snow is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. This means that Jon Snow has a rightful claim to the Iron Throne because he is also of Targaryen blood.
