The internet community has gone on and on about how the newest "Fantastic Four" movie has flopped. Nominations for the Golden Raspberries basically have the movie locked for the worst movie of the year, but that doesn't mean that the stars of the movie cannot move on.
This is the case for Michael B. Jordan who played Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. Cinemablend has reported that the actor is set to star in another comic book movie called "Blood Brothers." The movie is currently being developed by MGM, and Jordan is up for the role of the character Tree.
The synopsis of the film, according to Coming Soon, is that a pair of vampire friends, Nick and Tree, have been friends for over a century. The two have partied and had fun with the most notorious party people in the history of mankind. From Genghis Khan to Michaelangelo, the pair have been inseparable over the millennia. However, that's all about to come to an end as the two are set to go their separate ways, which can't come at a worse time, as a mysterious figure is threatening to end the world as we know it.
The premise sounds original and if the movie can adapt to the comic well enough, funny as well. Currently, Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment has been hired to produce the film, and although several scripts have already been submitted to MGM, the studio is looking for a new director and an updated script.
According to MGM, their vision for "Blood Brothers" is somewhat in line with that of an action movie / buddy cop film similar to that of the "Lethal Weapon" films. Apparently, the original pitch of the movie that was made was Ghostbusters meets Men in Black, which sounds amazing.
With no script or director attached to the film yet, the release date could be far off. This could be a good thing for Jordan as he could be looking to distance himself from the "Fantastic Four." Well, let's hope that Jordan can find success like that of his Human Torch predecessor, Chris Evans, who went on to play another comic book movie role as well.
The next movie Michael B. Jordan will be staring in is "Creed", which is a spinoff of the "Rocky" series. "Creed" hits theaters on November 25.
