Bill O'Reilly didn't mince words in scolding Jorge Ramos on Wednesday's edition of his eponymous "The O'Reilly Factor."
The Fox News host said Ramos acted less like a journalist and more like an illegal immigration advocate when interrupting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump during an Iowa press conference a night earlier.
"He is a man who wants amnesty for illegal aliens and not only that, he doesn't really want to stop illegal border crossings," O'Reilly said. "A case can be made that Mr. Ramos is an open border guy -- certainly a far-left position."
O'Reilly then compared Ramos' view on immigration to the Black Lives Matter movement, which came about after numerous publicized deaths of unarmed African-Americans by law enforcement. Both point, O'Reilly added, advocate policies from distinct point of views.
"That's allowed in America. However, when an anchorman does it, that becomes a problem," he said.
After accusing Ramos of ducking interview requests - ones that followed the murder of Kate Steinle by an undocumented immigrant five-times arrested - O'Reilly called the Mexican-American journalist a "fraud" and "zealot, advancing far-left positions that most Americans reject."
Ramos hasn't commented on O'Reilly's claims, but he did go on another Fox News' "The Kelly File" the same night to elaborate on why he defied Trump's request to sit down and cease his questioning.
"I think as journalists we have to take a stand when it comes to racism, discrimination, corruption, public lies, dictatorship, and human rights," Ramos said in speaking with Megyn Kelly. "And when he's expressing those really dangerous words, we have to confront him. That is our job, to ask tough questions, even if he doesn't like them."
