Calvin Harris and Zayn Malik engaged in a new Twitter war all because of "Bad Blood" singer Taylor Swift.
It was just a few weeks ago when Taylor Swift had a Twitter feud with singer Nicki Minaj. Taylor reacted to a post of the "Anaconda" singer which she thought was aimed at her. The war lingered for a while and then subsided when Swift apologized to Minaj, also via Twitter.
This time, Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Calvin Harris, engaged in a Twitter war with former One Direction member Zayn Malik after the latter allegedly dissed his girlfriend. Zayn retweeted a controversial photo that compared Taylor to "Wrekcing Ball" singer Miley Cyrus. The issue was about Swift's decision to pull out her music from Spotify because they were streaming it for free. Miley then made a statement that anybody can listen to her music because she already has the things that make her life a bit more comfortable.
According to Hollywood Life, DJ Calvin Harris fired back at Zayn in a series of Twitter posts. He advised Zayn to stay out of things he doesn't understand. He also noted that successful artists like Taylor only use their status to benefit other musicians who are struggling and depending on the service to be able to survive.
The series of replies from Harris have prompted the former One Direction member to angrily respond, The Guardian reported. Zayn said that it was Calvin who didn't understand and stated that the DJ/producer made an "absolute fool" of himself. He then went personal and called Calvin a "d*ckhead."
At that point, Harris insisted that it was the quote that he was referring to and not Zayn personally. But it was too late as Twitterverse have already taken sides. One that should be noted is when Zayn's former bandmate Louis Tomlinson favorited one of Harris' first angry reply to Malik.
Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift have gone public about their relationship since they were seen together at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. They followed up with few posts on Instagram about their Fourth of July weekend with friends.
The DJ is still obviously smitten with his new girlfriend admitting that he is "insanely happy" with Taylor.
"It's not even a case of ticking all the boxes. It's like, there's boxes I didn't know existed which she ticks. It's really ridiculous. But yeah she does an incredible BBQ. And she's genuinely an incredible cook, and human being," Calvin spoke about Taylor.
