There is still one character in the list of Marvel superheroes that have yet to be finalized and it looks like UFC Women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is sending feelers for the said role.
The superhero in mention is of course no other than Ms. Marvel, a role that many had speculated to be out when Avengers II: Age of Ultron came out. And for the many that have seen the film, there were no signs of Carol Danvers during the sequel. But then again, do remember that we are all in store for a whole lot more of Marvel films starting with Captain America 3: Civil War.
Rousey should be great addition of course though it remains to be seen if she would be fit to land the role of Ms. Marvel. Before the UFC women’s champion came into the circle, there were many names that were linked to playing the female superhero who got her powers after getting caught in an explosion from a piece of Kree technology.
Previous names linked to possibly playing Ms. Marvel include that of Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt. From the two popular actresses alone, it is apparent that Rousey may have trouble landing the role though Marvel could gamble once more as they did with other stars from other films.
Visually and thanks to her followers, fan arts have certainly been something worth looking at. Rousey displays them via her Instagram and admittedly, they are impressive renditions which Marvel may want to give a serious look.
If not Ms. Marvel, there are some who believe that Rousey could be fit as She-Hulk. That is of course if there are plans to cast the female version of the green-colored superhero.
However, between She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, it is obvious that the latter superhero is likely to have more exposure (and sense) for the coming Marvel flicks. For now, it would be best to leave the air open, especially since there is no single celebrity right now that has the inside track of landing the Ms. Marvel role.
Rousey has been around in the film industry, starring in films such as Expendables 3, Fast & Furious 7 and of course Entourage. Right now, the UFC champ is occupied in pre-production with Mile 22 where she will star opposite Mark Wahlberg.
Could Rousey get her wish and appease fans by getting the nod of Ms. Marvel? Only Marvel Studios may be able to confirm or put an end to these rants and speculations.
