Another card has been added for UFC 194 and it will pit UFC Middleweight champion Chris Weidman against Luke Rockhold.

The matchup will thus append the main billing which is of course that much awaited match featuring Jose Aldo and Connor McGregor. UFC 194 will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 12, 2015.

The match will be Weidman’s fourth straight title defense ever since he wrested the title from Anderson Silva back in 2013. His last match was back in May when he successfully defeated Vitor Belfort.

Weidman is currently toting a 13-0 record but will put that on the line as well aside from the UFC middleweight belt.

On the other end is Rockhold who is riding on a four-fight winning streak. He is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion. He last fought in April where he disposed Lyoto Machida.

With both cards headlining the matches at UFC 194, the UFC could have a great chance at another blockbuster offering that could hit 1 million sales.

Two previous fights were able to generate 1 million PPV buys. This was the Connor McGregor vs. Chad Mendes tiff at UFC 189 and UFC 190 which of course starred the reigning UFC Women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey against Bethe ‘PitBull’ Correia.

And as far as the Weidman-Rockhold match is concerned, UFC president Dana White is pretty much looking forward to the showdown.

"This will kind of be like the Robbie Lawler-Rory MacDonald fight was to the main event on UFC 189. This fight to me is incredible. I really like this fight. Rockhold is big, he's strong, he's a great grappler, he's got good hands, he's got kicks, knees, everything you want..” says White via Yahoo Sports.

Weidman has been known to go for grapples, taking down opponents and then doing the damage. On the other end Rockhold is a stand fighter, a complete contrast to the defending champion.

Weidman is looking forward to the fight, admitting that the two of them would be crossing paths sooner or later. Both have been around and practically entered the sport at the same time.

"I kind of imagined us fighting earlier in our careers," Weidman said via ESPN. "But he ended up losing while coming up. We had to delay the fight. Now it's finally going to happen."

There were earlier plans to hold UFC 194 at the Madison Square Garden in New York but unfortunately mixed martial arts has not yet been legalized and thus the decision to stage the fight at the MGM Grand Garden.
