Fans of Ariana Grande took to social media to defend her after Wendy Williams gave a negative remark about the singer's body, Daily Mail reported.

This explains why the hashtag #CancelWendyWilliams has been trending on Twitter after the fans called for the cancellation of the host's show.

Daily Mail quoted Williams as saying: "...forever look 12...And I don't mean that in a good way. It's nice to look younger than you are, but when you look too young and then you're short. She's only like 4'11". I don't look at her as, like, a woman." This immediately raised the eyebrows of Grande's fans.

The Daily Mail added that Williams also issued a remark about Ariana earlier this year, particularly on the singer's slip from Big Sean.

The host has not issued a formal statement about the issue.

Williams currently hosts her show "Sit Down Tour..Too Real for Stand Up." She has earned two Emmy nominations for hosting this signature talk show.

In a separate report, Metro, said Grande was also in hot water last month after a video of her went viral. The video showed her licking donuts in a California shop and saying she hates America. This also gained negative public attention, especially from the netizens. The singer was with her rumored boyfriend when the incident happened. The donut shop, meanwhile, became under the scrutiny of health officials due to possibly purchased contaminated donuts.

The singer was humble enough to apologize and admit that her behavior was not appropriate. Eventually, she posted two videos to say sorry for this behavior. She told her fans that she herself was also embarrassed by her behavior.

It one of the videos, she said: "Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly-that you have no idea as taken-is such as rude awakening. I was so disgusted with myself." She added, "I never want to be anything but a positive influence on my babes."

One of the users wrote: "I hope Wendy knows not to body shame now," and another added, "She is one of the reasons of why there are "standards" in society and that disgust me," as reported by Winnipeg Free Press.

Another use added: "As someone who has the exact same body as Ariana I feel really offended to be considered not a woman?"

Grande, who had a show in Japan this week, has not issued any official press statement yet.
