With the cool vibe that she's always had, Salma Hayek will probably do just about anything including eating worms on television.
While promoting her animated movie, "The Prophet," Salma stopped by "Watch What Happens Live." The TV program introduced a game called "Will Salma Eat It?" and the actress was challenged by the host of the show Andy Cohen. The game basically dared the actress to eat some mystery food.
According to People, the game kicked off with deep fried frogs. The 48-year-old actress wasn't at all surprised or disgusted by the dish and even questioned whether it was deep fried frog or frog legs. Before taking a bite of the unusual fried meat, Salma claimed that she eats them all the time in France.
"Frog or frog legs? What you are supposed to eat is the legs. I eat them all the time. I live in France and this is very common. It's actually a very common French food, usually they are not this greasy, but they are very good," Salma said.
A jalapeño followed after the frog dish and the Mexican actress didn't hesitate before taking a bite. The next box had silk worms in them and Hayek also dug in. Next was a Jewish delicacy which Hayk didn't know. Cohen explained that the food was like "Spam for Jews" and Salma humorously said that she needs to draw a line.
There is no denying that Salma is really dedicated to making "The Prophet" successful that she is up to do anything just to promote it. However, the actress said that her daughter Valentina is a little bit resentful of the movie.
Salma said that she did the movie from Europe and that everyone else was in America, The Mercury Entertainment reported. Since she spent a lot of time doing the film, Salma wasn't able to pay enough attention to Valentina. She admitted that there were nights that required not sleeping and she wouldn't be able to take her daughter to school in the morning. Salma said that this movie was the hardest film that she has ever done.
The movie will premiere later this month. The animated movie is an adaptation of Khalil Gibran's book of poetry. The book has never been out of print since it was released in 1923. In the last 92 years, the book has managed to sell more than 100 million copies.
