There is a lot of bad blood brewing between Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, but now it seems Swift's boyfriend, Calvin Harris, is getting into the mix.
Swift and Harris are rumored to be cooking up a scheme to embarrass Cyrus at this year's MTV Video Music Awards for taking a dig at the "Bad Blood" visual on Aug. 8.
According to HollywoodLife.com, the "Shake It Off" singer is serisously bothered by Cyrus' comments and being instructed by Harris just to "poke fun" at the entire situation, thus making the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker look ridiculous for inciting the entire beef.
"Calvin has always been an advocate for using humor to deflate tension and stress, and he wants Taylor to do the same," a source revealed.
"Taylor can't understand why Miley would take a dig at her," the source continued. "Calvin has been telling her to just shake it off. He thinks Taylor should just poke fun at the whole thing at the VMAs. This way she'll come out winning and putting it behind her, and just make Miley look silly for what she said."
The source further claimed the musical couple's plan to publicly shade the upcoming ceremony's host: "Calvin's the one who told Taylor to invite Miley up onstage with her if she performs 'Bad Blood' on the VMAs. He thinks it would be sublime!"
Or awkward?
Cyrus covered the September issue of Marie Claire and discussed Swift's music video regarding role models. She said she did not understand the "violence revenge thing" and further compared the public's adoration for the visual while condemning her for having so much skin-baring fun.
"I don't get the violence revenge thing," she said. "That's supposed to be a good example? And I'm a bad role model because I'm running around with my titties out? I'm not sure how titties are worse than guns."
Another source told HollywoodLife.com that Swift believes Cyrus is simply jealous of her star-studded visual that commanded the world's attention.
"She is desperate for attention and will do anything to get it. It must kill Miley that Taylor has gotten so much attention for 'Bad Blood,'" the source said. "In Taylor's mind, [she] is just being jealous. She wants the spotlight on her and taking shots at Taylor is a good way to do it."
Swift is reportedly dreading having to see Cyrus at the MTV VMAs on Aug. 30.
On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how things play out -- 18 more days and counting!
