Despite Theophilus London's Twitter claims, Kanye West's highly anticipated seventh studio album, "SWISH," is not finished. In an interview released on Monday by Montreality, producer and mixer Mike Dean shut down rumors of a finished LP by the "All Day" rapper.
"It's just in progress," said Dean, who went on to add in true Yeezy fashion, "Whenever Kanye says it's done, it's done." Fans can respect that, right?
The Texas native also gave fans a bit of a sneak peek into the studio chemistry between the duo. He admitted although the Chicago emcee does not smoke when he is working, he himself is allowed to blow a few "ohs," which allow his creative juices to flow.
Dean's work can be heard on a number of Ye's albums. He contributed to mixes on "The College Dropout" and "Late Registration," and assisted in the production of "Graduation," "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and "Yeezus."
According to the hip-hop producer's discography, the slew of his work with the "Only One" rapper also includes Yeezy's collaboration with Jay Z, "Watch the Throne," as well as "Mercy," "Higher" and "Cruel Summer."
Dean met West after mixing Scarface's album. He said that "Kanye's people reached out to him."
There have been numerous times fans thought their ears would finally be graced with a line by the "Clique" hitmaker, as protégé London threw fans into a frenzy after tweeting the album was finished.
"Ye played the album in Toronto on repeat its HI Key over for everybody. Everybody. Also Rodeo hi key about to change lives of the youth," he wrote. Fans have been demanding the LP release date ever since.
In addition, Dean addressed who he thinks is the greatest rapper of all time, saying Tupac because he passed away.
"If he wasn't passed away, I'd probably say like Scarface, 'Pac, like Kanye, Jay Z. They're all, like, on another level," he added. "I really like Rick Ross a lot, too."
