Aside from both being drop dead gorgeous models and getting to share the Jonas brothers for boyfriends, the best friends, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, are related -- well, sort of!
"Since we're best friend, we just want to be related," said Hadid.
She continued, "You know when in high school or middle school you want your best friend to marry your sibling so you have the same last name, well that just happened with me and Kendall we just didn't have to ask."
The 20-year-old spoke to Vanity Fair over the weekend and attempted to explain her convoluted web of relations to the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star.
"My mom married David [Foster], who was married to Linda Jenner [now, Thompson], who was Bruce Jenner's ex-wife [now known as Caitlyn Jenner]," Hadid explained. "We're related through divorced marriages.
"So your ex-step siblings?" asked Derek Blasberg. Hadid then comically shut it down by insisting: "We're best friends."
The girlfriends are so close to the point that they even share fondness for the Jonas siblings -- well, like most other teenage girls. However, the models are actually dating them.
Gagi Hadid, who is currently seeing Joe Jonas, reportedly introduced Jenner to Nick Jonas at a party in Las Vegas on Jul. 25. The DailyMail advised she invited her BFF to Joe's DJ show at Hyde Lounge, knowing Nick would be there.
A source told US Weekly that "Gigi and Joe were trying to encourage" the relationship. Hadid apparently wants to make sure her pal is no third wheel and can hang with her all the time.
"Gigi wants Kendall around all the time," the source claimed. "She thinks it would be fun for all of them to hang out."
"They are all going to end up hanging out regardless, so it seems like a simple situation, which could be a lot of fun," the source added.
Moreover, the publication reported this may be the perfect time for Kendall and Nick to couple up, thanks to the latter's split from his girlfriend of two years, Olivia Culpo, in June.
"Nick was single and looking to date and there was an obvious attraction. He absolutely thinks she's hot," the source said.
The pair has been reportedly exchanging flirty texts.
This is exciting news for the model BFFs! If they both happen to marry the Jonas brothers, they can finally share that last name.
