Earlier this year, The CW announced "Legends of Tomorrow," which is a spin-off from television series from "The Flash" and "Arrow." This reveal, along with a trailer, blew the collective minds of DC fans worldwide. The question now is: will Booster Gold be part of the series?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gold will be a no-show for "Legends of Tomorrow." Showrunner Phil Klemmer said, "I wish I could tease a Booster thing but, you might have to wait a good long while at least on our show. Perhaps Booster is being groomed for bigger things." This led to speculations of a DC/Warner Bros. movie about the time-travelling super hero.
The report further revealed various new information about the show. One of which is the appearance of Hawkman, and Hawkgirl's origins. The producers said that Hawkman will appear first on "The Flash" and "Arrow" before showing up on "Legends of Tomorrow." To continue, Hawkman's name is Carter Hall and he would be 5,000 years old. Hall had been reincarnated over the course of time and will retain all of his past lives' memories.
Unlike Hawkman, Hawkgirl will not retain memories of her past lives. Producer Marc Guggenheim said, "You'll get a clear picture of what her origin story is and you'll actually get a chance to see it. Fans of the comics will recognize an awful lot. It's probably one of the more faithful origins that we've told."
The report further divulged that there is a possibility for Professor Zoom or the Reverse-Flash to show up on "Legends of Tomorrow." In addition, it was revealed that some characters might not make it back alive while others might get lost in time.
Comic book fans would certainly know that Michael Jon Carter, aka Booster Gold, is Rip Hunter's father. Booster is one of two well-known 25th century characters, making Eobard Thawne the second one. According to Movie Pilot, it would be interesting to see Booster Gold on the small screen, but it doesn't seem to be the case for now. The report also said that if Warner Bros. plans to include Booster Gold in the DCCU, it will open up a lot story lines involving time-travel.
The roster of cast for "Legends of Tomorrow" is now complete. Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl), Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein), Caty Lotz (White Canary), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), Casper Crump (Vandal Savage), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) and Grant Gustin (Flash) will star on the show along with other characters making guests appearances from both "The Flash" and "Arrow."
The CW and Warner Bros.' "Legends of Tomorrow" will air midseason of 2016.
