Sheamus, the 2015 Money in the Bank winner, was mysteriously absent when the WWE held its Australian tour last week and it is believed that the Celtic Warrior could have suffered a concussion in last week’s edition of RAW.
To recall, the concussion may have come from that six-man tag match set by the WWE which saw Sheamus team up with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton. The match ended with Reigns spearing Sheamus to hand his team the victory.
There is no word on when Sheamus suffered the concussion considering that some observers had already noticed something odd about Mr. Money in the Bank prior to the end of the match.
According to reader Mike Ahh who sent his observation to Wrestling Inc., there were instances where his fellow wrestlers and some ringside staff would somehow be talking with him though Sheamus would signal that he was alright.
When the night was over, Sheamus alleged left a good 45 minutes after all the other WWE superstars had left.
Despite no official announcement from the WWE, Sheamus will likely be kept out of WWE shows until he is cleared of the said concussion. Apparently the WWE is taking all necessary measures to avoid compounding their current lawsuit with regards to head injuries to their talent.
With these series of events, it is likely that Sheamus won’t be around as well when WWE SummerSlam kicks off this coming weekend. Though Sheamus is not pitted in any card, there are some who felt that the Celtic Warriors could cash in his Money in the Bank which may happen in the Seth Rollins vs. John Cena card.
There is no timetable on when Sheamus could return though the good news is that he has no history of head injuries to be wary off.
His case is somewhat similar to that of Daniel Bryan who suffered the same concussion just a couple of months ago. The Yes Man was on the heels of making a grand return, winning the Intercontinental title until tragedy struck at the WWE’s European tour last April.
Bryan was eventually forced to surrender the Intercontinental belt which is now held by Ryback. The Yes Man was actually given the green light to return to action by a neurologist but an affiliated doctor of the WWE opposed the clearance despite Bryan passing all the necessary tests.
Sheamus is likely to follow the same route as the WWE tries to be extra careful in dealing with concussions from hereon.
