Actress JoAnna Garcia and her husband, baseball free agent Nick Swisher announced that they were expecting their first child on Monday. The twosome took to their social media pages to make their baby message.
Swisher, who recently became a free agent after he declined a 13.3 million on-year qualifying offer from the New York Yankees, took to Facebook to tell his fans about his exciting news.
"We are expecting a little Swisher in the spring of 2013! Words can't describe how blessed we feel to be expanding our family and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new addition," the 31-year-old former right fielder wrote.
He added, "Your support and kindness has meant so much to us throughout the years and we wanted to personally share the news with you all."
His wife, who recently co-starred on NBC's canceled comedy 'Animal Practice,' took to her Twitter account to share the news. Garcia wrote, "So happy to finally be able to share our news! @NickSwisher & I r expecting our 1st baby in 2013! Feeling so blessed & beyond excited!"
Fellow celebrities Lea Michele and Jamie-Lynn Sigler sent the couple their congratulations on Twitter, ABC News reported. Michele, star of FOX's 'Glee!,' tweeted:
Sigler, from NBC's 'Guys With Kids,' wrote:
According to ABC News, the couple married on December 11, 2010 in Palm Beach, Fla. This is their first child.
