Any piece of information that is about "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is vital. The film is more than just a movie as it is set to highlight the so-called DC Expanded Universe that will feature our favorite superheroes. Hence, until the movie is released or the characters roles are confirmed, rumors regarding the film, how big or small a detail it may be, will continue popping out.
Recent reports surfaced again regarding the real role of actor Scoot McNairy. After being cast for the film, the Texas native has been the subject of possible-role gossips. Before this, he was believed to play Flash after set photos of him wearing green screen socks were leaked. Well, that was all shut down when Ezra Miller came into the scene.
However, theorizing about McNairy's role might be given another light, or possibly solved, with a report from Hollywood Heroics providing some insight that Scoot might just be playing the role of Jimmy Olsen, a well-recognized character from the comics who is an investigative reporter and photo-journalist at the Daily Planet and one of Superman's friend.
Hollywood Heroics cited that a year-old rumor that McNairy will play the role of Jimmy Olsen is indeed true. However, it added that McNairy's role in the Zack Synder film has a twist that will support why McNairy was seen wearing the green screen socks. In the report, Olsen allegedly lost his legs when he was crushed under the building rubbles during the Black Zero event that destroyed the metropolis.
It was also noted that McNairy has already been seen in the movie trailer where he appeared sitting in the court chamber. However, it was not clear if he really lost his legs or it was just unintentional camera effect that is not meant to make the viewers speculate.
Screen Rant also offered an interesting take on the rumor. They pointed out that Olsen plays a key role in the Superman saga and it is only logical for him to be included in the DC Expanded Universe. In addition, the rumored portrayal of Olsen's character would be very fascinating to watch especially in the concept that Jimmy Olsen suffered life-altering physical injuries because of Superman but is also alive because of him.
Moreover, the plot looks like an interesting take and is worth exploring as it would give fans a healthy amount of substance and topic of debate for the anti-Superman storyline that Director Snyder is trailing.
Nonetheless, all of these are still mere speculations and are not yet confirmed. The movie will premiere in March 25, 2016, and until the release date, all we can do is wait.
