Looks like there are four major celebrities joining "The Voice" season 9 -- Selena Gomez, Missy Elliott, Brad Paisely and John Fogerty will be brought on as mentors.

According to US Weekly, the aforementioned musical guides will serve as assistant coaches to contestants, lending their expertise following the blind auditions, known as the battle rounds.

Gomez is set to serve as a mentor for style icon and singer Gwen Stefani, while rapper Elliott will aide to producer and hitmaker Pharrell Williams. Paisely and Fogerty will assist country artist Blake Shelton and pop singer Adam Levine, respectively.

The insider advised although the "Come and Get It" singer, 23, is quite young, she has proven to be a great addition to the team: "She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she's so young. She exceeded everyone's expectations."

The insider also admitted Paisley is going to be a great help to Shelton, with both on and off the show: "Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great for Blake to have him there - especially considering everything Blake is going through."

The publication also revealed Fogerty, the lead singer of the Creedence Clearwater Revival, was personally asked by Levine to be a part of the live singing competition. The Maroon 5 member reportedly always wanted to work with the singer and considers him a "legend."

"John performed at 'The Voice' finale, and that's when Adam asked him to come back this season as a mentor," the insider said.

Former mentors on the nationally syndicated television show include musical vets, rhythm-and-blues singer Lionel Richie, rock legend Stevie Nicks and pop songstress Alicia Keys, in addition to breakthrough performers, "Burn" chanteuse Ellie Goulding and "All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor.

The next season of the "The Voice" will premiere Sept. 21 on NBC.
