Good news for Batman and Joker fans! It has been allegedly confirmed that Mark Hamill is back as the Joker as he sets out to voice the character once again for "Batman: The Killing Joke" animated movie.
It is no secret that while people would like to put Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson at the top of the list as the best Joker ever, fans of the "Batman" animated series would argue that Mark Hamill is the best Joker of all time. Although Hamill's resume as the Joker is really impressive, it doesn't include the most popular Joker story ever, "the Killing Joke." However, reports stated that Hamill has been tapped to play the Joker for the film, which could be his last portrayal of the character.
According to a report by Collider, it has been confirmed that Hamill will return as the Joker for the "Batman: The Killing Joke" animated movie.
As noted on the report, Hamill has already recorded all of his lines for the film.
For those who are not familiar with "The Killing Joke," it is a story penned by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's, and it is considered as one of the best Joker stories ever. It is the most used origin story for the Joker.
"The Killing Joke" also gives some insight as to how the Joker thinks, as the story is about his belief that one bad day is enough to drive any person insane. He then sets out to test this theory on Commissioner Gordon. "The Killing Joke" is also memorable for its famed sequence on how Batgirl aka Barbara Gordon became paralyzed from the waist down.
While it has been confirmed that Hamill would voice the Joker for "The Killing Joke," fans are now asking for Kevin Conroy to voice the Batman in movie.
According to Comicbook.com, Conroy admitted that he knows fans want to see him and Hamill together again for "The Killing Joke." He stated that he would voice Batman again "in a heartbeat" given the chance.
"There's an online petition to have us do it... Oh, God! Are you kidding me? I'd do it in a heartbeat," Conroy told ComicBook.com. "I love working with him. I couldn't believe when they killed off The Joker. I would love to do it, and I hope that that happens".
As noted by Comicbook.com, "Batman: The Killing Joke" is set to be released in 2016.
