Although Katy Perry and John Mayer were spotted together at a Grateful Dead concert just last month, they have reportedly decided to call it quits -- and this certainly is not the first time the two have broken up this year.
An insider recently revealed to E! News that the singers decided to split up yet again for unknown reasons. However, Hollywood Life reported that their breakup was due to trust issues and distance among many other reasons.
According Hollywood Life, Perry could not trust her boyfriend, while Mayer could not handle the lack of attention she was giving him.
"Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her 'Prismatic' world tour. So, for those months they had a great time, pretending that it would last -- and of course it didn't," a source informed RadarOnline.
Also, the "Your Body Is a Wonderland" hitmaker has been known to be quite the ladies' man and not-so-slick heartbreaker: he has had previous relationships with Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and the list goes on.
However, it looks like the cards have switched -- Mayer may feel neglected as Perry is currently busy, performing a magic show in Los Angeles on July 22 to promote her latest perfume, Mad Potion, while he has been frolicking around with not much on his hand. His website leaves a lot to be desired, when it comes to tour dates or the lack there of.
The "Daughters" crooner also left some pretty gloomy Tweets in the past couple of days. "I may have just embarrassed myself, but in my defense, high five and 'hand to God' look very similar," he wrote. "Gonna go cook dinner. Sorry for blowing up your feed... Been a while. Talk soon. X." Although he might not have been talking about the pop star, he definitely exuded somewhat of cheerlessness.
Perhaps the on-again, off-again couple will reunite. Perez Hilton among many other sources implied that they will most likely get back together and this is just another one of their routined breakups -- who said being in a relationship is easy, especially when you are as busy as jet setter Katy Perry?
