One of the biggest names in computer video cards, Nvidia, announced that starting immediately, any purchase of certain video cards will come with a code for a digital copy of the soon-to-be-released "Metal Gear Solid" game.
According to VG24/7, customers who will purchase the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, 980, 970, or 960 GPU or 980/970M notebook will receive a redemption code for "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" for the PC.
Gamers of the PC version will have to wait a little longer than those who have ordered the game for consoles such as Xbox One and PS4. Gamespot has announced that the PC version of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phatom Pain" will be released two weeks after the console versions. The PC version is set for release on Sep 15, 2015.
Nvidia has been known to offer such promotions in the past. The graphics card giant recently gave away games like "Witch Hunter 3: Wild Hunt" and "Batman: Arkham Knight" along with certain graphics cards. Both games were released on time but the PC versions were marred with many flaws and updates were required to fix the games' many bugs. "Batman: Arkham Knight" had to be taken off Stream because the PC version was so bad. Currently, Rockstar Games is still trying to fix the problems with the game.
"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" may possibly be the last Metal Gear game in the franchise that acclaimed video game producer, Hideo Kojima, will be attached to. Kojima and game developer Konami recently had a public falling out, and due to public restructuring, Kojima Studios and Konami were forced to part ways. While Kojima's name is still on the in game credits, the Kojima Studios logo and his name have been removed from the game's box cover.
The game has been in development for almost three years now. While a demo disk for the game was released last year, it only covered less than 10 percent of what gamers are expected to experience in the game's full version. Kojima has stated in previous interviews that this version of "Metal Gear Solid" will be his best work yet. These words are encouraging for fans of the long running franchise as previous "Metal Gear Solid" games have been met with critical acclaim. Kojima claims that this "Metal Gear Solid" title is meant for both new and veteran fans of the series.
