Good news for "X-Men" fans, especially those who are fans of Evan Peters' Quicksilver, as new details about his character and what his role would be in "X-Men Apocalypse" have been detailed.
While Quicksilver is not one of the most popular "X-Men" characters, the mutant was surprisingly well received when he appeared in Bryan Singer's "X-Men Days of Future Past".
When Peters' Quicksilver was first revealed to the public, he was instantly labelled as a failure as his first promotional photo was deemed too weird and that his silver hair and silver outfit does not resemble his comic book appearance. However, naysayers were immediately silenced when "X-Men Days of Future Past" was released in theatres and people began saying that his scene was the best in the movie.
Quicksilver's scene is one of the most memorable scenes in the movie as the scene showcased how fast and funny the speedster is when using his powers. The scene shows Quicksilver saving Wolverine, Magneto and Professor X from being gunned down in a kitchen by moving so fast that he is capable of running on walls and bullets seem to move as slow as a turtle. Quicksilver changes the trajectory of bullets while knocking out the enemies while moving in super speed.
At present, Peters himself has stated that an even bigger scene showcasing his powers is planned for "X-Men Apocalypse" and fans should get excited for it as it is going to be even better than his scene in "X-Men Days of Future Past".
According to Molly Freeman of Screen Rant, Evan Peters has acknowledged that it is going to be difficult to top what they did in "X-Men Days of Future Past" but the team behind "X-Men Apocalypse" is ready to do it.
"Well, yeah, it's always difficult to try to top something like that. The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it," Peters noted to MTV.
Peters then stated that something bigger and better is planned for his "show off" scene and that he admits that he is excited to see it come together.
"This year we're working on something that's bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I'm really excited to see it all cut together, and I'm excited for people to see it, too. I think it's going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie. The scope of it - with the end of the world and Apocalypse coming - is going to be a very large, epic 'X-Men' film," said Peters.
As noted by Screen Rant, Peters' Quicksilver will be joined by James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme, Nicholas Hoult as Hank McCoy, Lucas Till as Alex Summers, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Ben Hardy as Angel, Olivia Munn as Psylocke and Lana Condor as Jubilee.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will released on theatres on May 27, 2016.
