Mexican comedian George Lopez is rumored to be replacing Donald Trump on "The Celebrity Apprentice" weeks after NBC cut ties with the billionaire businessman.
It would be a good punch thrown at Donald Trump if reports are proven true that George Lopez will replace him on the reality show "The Celebrity Apprentice." In an article by Fox News Latino, the Mexican-American comedian is reportedly in talks to be Trump's replacement in the show. This is just after NBC network decided to cut ties with the businessman after he made racist comments about Mexicans when he announced his candidacy for president last month.
"Representatives for Lopez - whose stand-up routines frequently take on race relations - are in the early stages of discussions with NBC," according to the article.
Another source claimed that given Trump's "crazy comments" George would be the "perfect loud response" of the network. In addition, having Lopez as host of the reality show would be a smart move and would allow more diversity in the network.
NBC which is home network of "The Celebrity Apprentice" have cut ties with Donald Trump after he bashed Mexico for sending "rapists" and "drug traffickers" in America. But instead of apologizing, Trump has remained firm and unapologetic with his controversial remarks.
However, in a recent report by Daily Mail, George Lopez has denied rumors that he is replacing Donald Trump in the show. The comedian used his Twitter account to bring clarity on the issue.
"There's talk about me taking over the apprentice, instead of your fired? Id say #VelesVerga," the comedian posted.
Lopez is one to that never held back regarding his feelings towards Trump. He once joked about Trump and said that if the billionaire won he wouldn't have to worry about immigration.
"If he wins in 2016, he won't have to worry about immigration, we'll all go back," Lopez joked.
Trump has been under fire from people in and out of his party but the businessman has refused to stop back off his comments regarding the immigration issue that he presented during his presidential bid.
"The Mexican government is forcing their most unwanted people into the United States' and claimed that in many cases, they are 'criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc.," Trump said.
Even with his harsh comments, Trump still believes that he will be able to win votes from the Hispanic community because of the job opportunities that he was able to give them. He went as far as claiming that the Hispanics "love" him.
