Brandy Norwood, a multi-award winning singer, received no love when she sang her rendition of Whitney Houston's "Home" while on a New York subway train.

People reported that Brandy just recently moved to "The Big Apple" for her part as Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago. Apparently, she is still getting used to the life in New York City.

The singer/actress only heard crickets and saw people avoiding eye contact after her performance. Her reaction on the video showed how surprise she was that her song had fallen on deaf ears. At one point of the video, she even looked a bit upset. Brandy then jokingly acted "emotional" and tried to use her phone to call her mom when the cameraman told her that she'll get no service on the subway. Nobody paid attention to her except one commuter who gave Brandy a compliment and said that she should go for it.

Brandy had no idea that a typical New Yorker's response to someone making fuss is to totally ignore them. Daily Star's reports reveals that after her performance, the singer said to a friend who was filming her: "Nobody heard me singing? Nobody cares? I just gave that my all and ain't nobody saying nothing. People in New York are very rude."

This is not the first time that Brandy was humiliated during a performance. Daily Star further added that the singer did a gig in Johannesburg, South Africa back in 2013. She was supposed to sing in front of a large crowd following a football match in a 94,000-capacity stadium.

To her dismay, only 40 people stayed for her performance. Being a performer, Brandy continued with the gig despite the overwhelming number of empty seats. Since nobody stayed long enough to watch her, the singer allegedly sang only two songs. Brandy then left the stage sulking.

It's not like Brandy is not famous. She was in the hit television show "Moesha" and was nominated for a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series.

Brandy has multiplatinum albums and singles after all. Her "Never Say Never" alone back in 1998 was a certified five times platinum in the states. Her singles such as "That Boy is Mine" and "Sittin' Up In My Room" are both chart toppers back in the days.

Maybe the folks from "The City that Never Sleeps" just don't bat an eye whenever someone sings his or her heart out on a subway train.
