The time for action is now! With "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" just a few months away, the rebels from District 13 have been featured in several posters complete with war paint and brooding looks.
Big Shiny Robot confirms that the series of posters have been dubbed, "Faces of the Revolution" and feature all of Katniss' allies for the upcoming revolution. These posters are just the latest in ongoing propaganda that District 13 is sending out for the citizens of Panem.
Just recently, MTV reported that a video was sent out showing the face of the revolution Katniss Everdeen standing alone and wearing her new Mockingjay suit. Katniss' suit is a shade of red, called Revolution Red. The video begins with Katniss standing alone staring into the distance, then the camera slowly pans out and the iconic three-fingered statue that has been prominent during the entire "Hunger Games" franchise can be seen. As the camera gets to its maximum range, the slogan of District 13 is revealed: "Unite D13 The Revolution is About All of Us."
In previous titles, Katniss Everdeen was unexpectedly put into the public spotlight after she and fellow District 12 tribute, Peeta, became the first co-winners of the Hunger Games. The sheer act of defying the will of the capital sparked a revolution in all the districts of Panem. After Katniss and Peeta were forced to compete in a second Hunger Games, the two were reluctant heroes in the fight against the capital.
"Mockingjay Part 2" will focus on Katniss' struggle to lead her team of rebels against the Capitol and President Snow. Katniss' team will consist of her closest friends and trusted allies including: Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). Donald Sutherland will reprise his role as President Coriolanus Snow, the leader of all the Districts of Panem, and as president he will use all his power to stop Katniss' rebellion and try to keep the other Districts under the control of the capital.
While the "The Mockingjay" is the last of the Hunger Games books, producers and executives at Lionsgate are actively looking for ways to possibly extend the series probably through a series of prequels. This was done similarly in "The Hobbit" prequels which were part of the "Lord of the Rings" universe.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is scheduled for its theatrical release on Nov 20, 2015.
