In the latest news from the next movie in the X-Men franchise, rumors have been flying that superstar pop singer Taylor Swift maybe joining the team.
According to E Online, rumors started that Swift may be the newest member of the X-Men to join the cast and Crew of "X-Men: Apocalypse" when a photo was put up on Twitter. The photo shows the pop princess next to producer Simon Kinberg, Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) and James McAvoy (Professor X). The photo is captioned, "Haters gonna hate," taking a line from Swift's billboard hit, "Shake it off."
What does this photo mean? Fans around the world are hoping that it would mean that Swift will be part of the movie as one of the X-Men. It could also mean that Swift could be doing some songs for the movie's soundtrack.
If the rumors are true and Swift will be one of the X-Men in the next film, there is only one question that can be raised: which of the X-Men would she be? NZHerald shines some "light" on this question. The role that would best fit Swift would be that of a Mutant known as Dazzler.
Dazzler is a blonde haired mutant who can take sound waves and convert them into blasts of energy. These blasts are seen as blasts of light, giving her the name Dazzler. Dazzler's real name is Alison Blaire, and she also doubles as an 80's pop star.
Since the movie will be based in the 1980's casting a current singer with a massive fan base wouldn't be such a stretch after all. This would mean even more if Swift actually went out and gave her talents to the movie's soundtrack.
Casting Swift is also a sound move financially as well, since the last two X-Men movies did well in the theaters, the X-Men franchise has gone through some rough times as well. Just by making a few cameo's or saying a few lines could be enough for the droves of fans that Swift has to get to themselves to the movie.
However, it could be difficult for Swift to find a place as Dazzler since another mutant with similar powers named Jubilee has also been supposedly casted. Fans will have to wait till the Fox Panel at this weekend's San Diego Comic Con to find out if this rumor is true.
