It has been a long 18 years for Dragon Ball fans to wait for a new series that is officially backed by series creator Akira Toriyama. While many remember the failed experiment that was Dragon Ball GT, the said series was not officially declared cannon and Toriyama said himself that he did not like the progression of the story nor will he endorse it anyway.
"Dragon Ball Super" is the newest series to come from the Toei Animation Studio, and will revolve around Son Goku and his friends as they defend Earth from those who wish to do harm. The new series will be set in the time right after Son Goku defeated Majin Buu and the Earth is in a relative era of peace.
Attackofthefanboy reported that the titles of Episodes 3, 4 and 5 have been released in Japan and, thanks to some social media users, have been made available to the Western audiences as well.
For those who have been able to watch the first episode the title for Episode 2 has already been released and is titled "Vegeta Goes on a Family Trip." This will focus on Vegeta, Bulma and Young Trunks. This looks like it's going to focus more on the fun side of Vegeta's life rather than the serious fighter that he is.
Episode 3 will be titled "Look for the Super Saiyan God." This seems to be an episode in which many fans have been waiting for. Goku has been rumored to have a form past the Super Saiyan level 3, rumors have circulated that this form will be called Super Saiyan God, this may be the episode where this form is finally shown or at least explained.
Episode 4 will be titled "Mission Dragonballs! Pilaf Gang's Big Plan!" This will be another humor-based episode since Pilaf isn't a strong villain in the Dragon Ball universe.
According to the magazine, Episode 5 will be titled "Goku vs. God of Destruction Beerus." Beerus is a new character introduced in the "Battle of the Gods" movie that was just recently released. Beerus and Goku are set to fight in what looks like a multi-episode feature.
For fans who are waiting for the English version of "Dragon Ball Super," VC Post reports that several popular companies are trying to get the rights for the English version. Hulu, Funimation and Crunchyroll have all been connected to the English version in some way or another. "Dragon Ball Super" airs every Sunday in Japan. No word for the international release has been made.
