Working out? You surely don't want to ruin your fitness goals, right? We list in here some foods that you should not eat either before or after your exercise routines.

Say NO to any of these goodies and continue to keep an eye to whatever you take in.

1. Salty Foods

These crisp finger goodies have high sodium and calorie content, which can cause certain heart and kidney diseases. And you surely don't want to get lots of unwanted calories while you also harm your body, do you? So, get rid of saltine chips, crackers, popcorns, pretzels, and a whole lot more.

2. Fatty and Processed Foods

These may be one of the easiest grabs available to fill up an empty tummy and reward an exhausted body but the same can also be harmful in the long run. Burgers, fries, frittos, nachos, hotdogs, patties, and pizzas aren't good as these seem to also elevate levels of LDL cholesterol, known as the bad cholesterols.

3. Sugary Foods

Sweets and pastries overload - this set has been proven to slow down metabolism. And since you need faster metabolism rate, you need to say NO to these delightful sugary snatches. Having lots of carbs and unwanted calories that you definitely not need, cupcakes, doughnuts, ice creams, cakes, and candies should really be avoided. A healthier grab of fresh fruits and veggies shall ease the so-called 'deprivation'.

4. Heavy foods

You should also pass up those fried, oily, and creamy casseroles, the same way you say 'NO' to fatty and salty foods. Heavy foods have saturated fats and oils that rapidly increase cholesterol levels. All these and more you absolutely don't need in your efforts in losing weight and keeping yourself fit.

5. Energy Bars

Energy bars are known to refuel you or give you an instant boost. Steering away from these grabs is better as eating such can do you more harm than good - decreasing your metabolism and producing unwanted fats.

6. Flavored Waters and Energy Drinks

It's always best to drink water to keep yourself hydrated. Though these thirst quenchers are initially refreshing, they have artificial flavors that cause their downsides. Energy drinks and sodas have too much sugar - leading to energy crashers, tooth decay, weight gain, etc.

All these goodies you should really avoid when working out. But here are the post-workout 'recovery' snacks that you'd love to try. Snatch some smart snacks now and keep your fitness goals in tact.

You are what you eat.
