After a successful first season, Marvel has more in store for "Agent Carter" in Season 2. The studio will have Peggy Carter move her base of operations from New York City to Los Angeles to protect America from the aftermath of World War II.
Peggy will not be alone, however, in this move. Cinema Blend reports that several key characters will be returning to help Agent Carter in her efforts. Dominic Cooper is set to reprise his role as Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark, for Season 2. Fans might remember that Cooper also played Howard Stark in "Captain America: The First Avenger" as well as several episodes in Season 1. It has yet to be revealed if Cooper is casted as a guest star, or as part of the regular cast. It is more probable that Cooper is just doing guest appearances since he is already on "Preacher" showing on AMC.
Halyley Atwell, who portrays Peggy Carter, said in an interview on Den of Geek that while Season 2 has yet to begin filming, she can confirm that it will place her character in 1947. Atwell continues to say that the events of Season 2 will be one full year after the Season 1 finale.
For those who are not familiar with these events, the first season of "Agent Carter" revolves around Stark's inventions being stolen and then framed; making it look like he willingly gave the inventions to the enemies of the United States. Agent Carter's team is tasked to help find the inventions before they are used against America.
In the Season 1 finale, Stark was saved by Agent Carter and her group before he was brainwashed into detonating the Midnight Oil, a chemical in which anyone who inhaled it would go into an enraged state, over Times Square. Stark was so grateful to Carter and her group that he gave her one of his mansions. He then went back to Washington to convince them to give back the technology stolen from him.
How Stark will be involved with the story is yet to be revealed but one thing is certain: He will be bringing his long list of acquired enemies with him wherever he goes.
Edwin Jarvis, Stark's butler and friend to Agent Carter, will also be returning. James D'Arcy, who plays Jarvis, has been confirmed to reprise his role. Season 2 of "Agent Carter" is set to premiere next year during the mid-season break of "Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D."
