A few days before San Diego Comic Con 2015, Valiant Entertainment announced its two new comic book series.

According to hollywoodreporter the announcement was made at Twitter headquarters during Valiant's #ValiantSummit 2015 event. The announcement was done with a live stream using Twitter's Periscope application.

For those who are not familiar with Valiant Entertainment and their comic book universe, here is a brief background.

Back in the late 1980s, Valiant Entertainment was Voyager Communications started up by several ex-Marvel Comics executives. By the mid 1990s, Valiant Comics has become a strong third comic book universe behind those of Marvel and DC. In 1994, Valliant was purchased by Acclaim Entertainment which at the time was one of the largest video game manufacturers. Acclaim is best known for creating the Mortal Kombat series.

The partnership was fruitful for many years with several of Valiant's characters receiving their own video games. However, Acclaim Entertainment declared bankruptcy in 2004 and dissolved all their assets including Valiant.

Fast forward to the present in where once again several former Marvel Comics executives purchased the rights to all the former Valiant characters and their libraries and currently comic readers are seeing resurgence in Valiant Comics.

IGN reports that during the live broadcast Valiant introduces the two newest titles to the Valiant Entertainment Universe; "Wrath of the Eternal Warrior" and "The Death-Defying" Doctor Mirage: Second Lives."

"Wrath the Eternal Warrior" will focus on a female lead character named Gilad who was part of Unity, the Valiant, and the yet-to-be released Book of Death. Currently no powers or back story for Gilad has been released other than she is an immortal. "Wrath the Eternal Warrior" is slated to launch in November 2015.

The Death-Defying" Doctor Mirage: Second Lives" is a series that will directly follow up on the original mini-series "The Death-Defying Doctor Mirage." Returning to the comic is series creator Jen Van Meter and her team. The first mini-series of Doctor Mirage launched to critical acclaim and many of its fans asked for a continuation of the story. Van Meter obliged, however she does state that the mood will be a bit "lighter" than the original series. The series is set for a December 2015 launch date

Valiant Entertainment also reported that milestone issues of long running series such as Bloodshot and X-O Manowar are nearing completion and the comic book company couldn't be happier with the results. Valiant currently is one of two comic companies which are holding event before Comic Con, Image is also slated to hold an event regarding their state affairs before Comic Con.
