‘Bennifer' Back? Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez Romance Brewing?

"Bennifer" might be making a comeback. However, this pairing does not include Jennifer Garner in the equation.

People were shocked when Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce. They were the kind of Hollywood couple that nobody would have suspected to separate. They did always seem so in love with each other and hands on with their kids.

In a joint statement that they released which is just a day after their 10th wedding anniversary, the pair announced that they will be separating.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," their statement read.

According to Fox News Latino, Ben had been in contact with his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. Many suspect that it could be one of the reasons for their divorce. In the article, it stated that Ben went up to Lopez during a break at the Academy Awards that happened this year. A source said that the "Gone Girl" actor whispered something to JLo that caused the former "American Idol" judge to playfully hit his arm.

In a report by The Sun, Garner is rumored to have grown concerned about her husband's closeness to his former flame over the few months leading up to their divorce. Ben and Lopez dated for 18 months up until 2004. The actor even proposed to the Latina but both eventually decided to split. The former exes have reportedly maintained a close friendship that bothered Garner.

"Everyone is talking about J-Lo and Ben and saying it's inevitable they will get together again at some point. We call them the Richard Burton and Liz Taylor of Hollywood," a source revealed. "They were pretty flirty at the Oscars and have stayed in touch over email. Jennifer Garner never liked it."

There are other rumored factors why their relationship ended in divorce. It was said that problems started to rise when Affleck hit the booze when he tried to get in character for the movie "Gone Girl." It can be noted that he quit drinking after his time in rehab back in 2001. He then gave credits to his wife Jennifer Garner for his sobriety. His other vices might also be a factor. Affleck is reportedly obsessed with gambling and was even kicked out of a Las Vegas casino last year for counting cards.

In the past months he have missed out on important family events like Jennifer Garner's birthday last April and Mother's Day last May.
